On Wednesday 15th May 2019, MINI Park Lane celebrated International Family Day by hosting an internal charity bake sale. The cakes may have served as a delicious treat for the employees however the sale was in aid of raising awareness and donations towards Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan was founded in 1911 by Douglas Macmillan. Douglas watched his father die of cancer. His father's pain and suffering moved Douglas so much, he founded the Society for the Prevention and Relief of Cancer. The charity has now grown to be the UK’s leading source of cancer support, helping more and more people living with cancer.
The charity provides advice and information to all people with cancer. They help fund homes for patients at low or no cost, and offer a voluntary nurses service who attend to patients in their own homes. With International Family Day in mind, we are aware of how many families are affected by cancer and we wanted to do something as a team to help make a difference.
The Team at Park Lane showed their empathy through raising £376.98 towards the charity. This is something in which we are extremely proud of, we want to continue raising awareness and receiving more donations to help Macmillan Cancer Support as much as possible.
At MINI Park Lane we continuously work to raise awareness of charities and plan to show our support through hosting charity events throughout the year. To keep informed on our next charity event please email our team.
