MINIMALISM – what’s it all about?

    MINI have developed a range of ingenious features to enhance  

    the performance and fuel efficiency of every* new MINI. It’s all about ‘less is 

    more’ and we call it MINIMALISM.

MINIMALSIM Technology is designed to give you more miles to the gallon without sky high emissions.

The latest MINI has Brake Energy Generation - so when you brake or coast downhill, the system automatically engages the alternator to charge the battery to full power. In English, this means the latest MINI recycles energy that would otherwise be wasted.

It also has this nifty thing called Auto-Start Stop - when your not moving, the engine automatically switches off when you go into neutral and take your foot off the clutch. Helping you to save fuel and cut emissions too, don’t worry, as soon as you put your foot back on the clutch, the engine re-starts instantly.

Then last but not least is the Shift Point Display - This measures engine speed, the driving conditions and position of the accelerator pedal, then calculates the most fuel efficient gear to drive in.

Together, these many clever ideas deliver highly impressive results.
